Logo Contest running through the end of school...because, why not? You can submit logos until the last day of school! You can doodle something and mail it to us or design something online and send it that way. With each design please also send an entry form, and make sure you're adhearing to the contest rules. Any questions about how to submit or what FORTE is looking for in a logo? Drop us a line! Project Homeless ConnectOn January 28th, Pacific County volunteers and community members were deployed to search out individuals without permanent housing. Their basic information is collected and reported back to the government for annual data- it's actually really important to get acurate numbers so we can continue to get grants and offer services from a government level.
But that's the boring part. The exciting part of January 28th was Project Homeless Connect. Penninsula Poverty Response and my *amazing* fellow AmeriCorps member Nichole, organized a huge resource fair. It was set up for those who needed anything from legal help a new haircut, and it was amazing to witness. Volunteers took participants around to different booths, sat with them while they ate a hot meal, and got to know them. I wish I could have witnessed more of this, but I was out and about sending people their way! It was a humbling day. If you or anyone you know needs assistance with housing, or has any questions about what kinds of resources are available, please contact PPR or take a look at the Pacific County Resource Guide. |
